What technology will bring to the next decade

Ten years ago, we would have been blown away by a cellphone with far more computing power and memory than the average PC had in 1999, along with a built-in camera and programs to manage every aspect of our lives. Ten years from now, the iPhone and its ilk will be antiques.

Over the next decade, the evolution of computing and the Internet will produce faster, increasingly intelligent devices. More of our possessions will contain sensors and computers that log our activities, building digital dossiers that augment our memories, help us make decisions and tame information overload.

Such ideas may sound futuristic and excessive today, and technological predictions are notoriously off-base. Short-term forecasts tend to assume too much change, and long-term forecasts underestimate the possibility of sudden, major shifts.

Preview Google Chrome OS

Google says, most of the time we just use our computer for the Internet, and I couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re a businessman or a geek like myself, your Internet browser (or Email program), is probably the first thing you access once your computer have booted up (a couple of minutes later). The much talked about Google Chrome OS has been revealed and guess what? Seconds after you turn on the computer, Google’s browser will be booted up, because the browser will be your Operating System. This means that every single thing will be web-based, whether it’s your documents, chat, social networking services, and such, all of the applications will be stored on the Internet. Sounds great, but it brings us all back to the most preliminary thing that will make it a nightmare for us…Internet speed and reliability! Watch the video from Google below for more information about Google Chrome OS.

Google Dashboard is a one-stop shop for browsing through of almost all the Google services you’re using and, by extension, shows you everything Google knows about you. The nice thing about the new dashboard is that it gives you central way to manage and control that data — change privacy settings, control sharing and limit what data Google stores about you.

Each service listed in your dashboard contains an overview of your usage and links to change any data-sharing settings, edit any associated profiles and control who can see what. For example, the Google Reader entry in the dashboard shows a summary of your feeds, starred items and followers, and includes handy links to control your sharing settings.
