Today Google has finally stripped off Gmail from its 5 years old beta phase. The current Gmail is final version. Of course, it does not mean it won’t be improved.
Google said ‘beta’ label scares away business users as it sounds like something in development, and thus might be unstable. But things changed now. Business users have options to upgrade their mail storage as premium service.
Beside Gmail, other Google Apps that’s also ‘graduated’ from beta are Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk, Google Sites, and Google Video. While some other like Google Scholar is still carrying the beta.
Old-school users who miss the beta tag will have the option to enable beta tag, from their Settings page, inside Labs tab. Weird option, i think.
